Raising Awareness for Breast Cancer
50 Miles
IÂ ran one mile a day to reach my goal.
50 Days
I ran 50Â consecutive days from Aug. 11 to Sept. 29, 2020.
50 States
Each day, I ran in Laguna Beach with a Team Captain from a different state running with me via Zoom from their town.
50th Birthday
I started my endeavor on my 50th birthday, Aug. 11, 2020.
My Mission
For my 50th birthday, I wanted to do something BIG.
Since I love to travel, I came up with the idea of traveling to all 50 states during the year of my 50th birthday. But that didn't seem like enough. I also wanted to combine it with giving back. So, as a breast cancer survivor, I thought I could do a one-mile run in each of the 50 states and invite people from each state to join me to bring awareness to breast cancer.
Then the Coronavirus hit!
In order to keep others, and myself, safe, traveling was off the table. So, I have come up with the idea to partner with one runner in each state to do a run together virtually and that person could invite people from their state to join us too. I would run one mile in Laguna Beach for 50 consecutive days live via Zoom with at least one person from each of the 50 states - that will total 50 miles for me.

Anyone can join my runs via Zoom where they can run or walk along with me from their home town - or they can watch and support me from the comfort of their couch.

I want to get as many people as possible to sign up to join me virtually to have the biggest impact on the most amount of people.
